Shooting threat made at Vista high school

VISTA — Sheriff’s deputies were stationed Friday at Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista after a vague school shooting threat was scrawled on a restroom wall, authorities said.

The heightened security was a precautionary move after the threat was found Thursday, sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Pucillo said.

The scrawl, which did not offer specifics such as a date, does not appear to be a credible threat, Pucillo said.

Fallbrook campus threat prompts added security

FALLBROOK — Sheriff’s deputies will be on the Fallbrook High School campus Monday, Feb. 11, in response to an anonymous threat of violence that was posted online.

An email with a screen image of the threat, from an unknown website, was received by Fallbrook Union High School District officials Thursday. The district immediately notified the Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Yates said the “vague threat” is under investigation. It’s unknown who emailed the image of the threat or on what website the message was posted.

During Spirit Week at South El Monte High School outside of Los Angeles, Edith Rodriguez and Pablo Ocegueda were playing tug-of-war when the rope snapped. The rope had wrapped around the hands of Rodriguez and Ocegueda, so when it snapped, several of their fingers were severed.
Rodriguez, a soccer player, and Ocegueda, a football player, were immediately brought into Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center for surgery to reattach their fingers
